Later than night we met up with the Vistani, who were traveling west towards Brindol. After the battle in the warehouse and the storms before that, a little relaxation was in order. Dandelion introduced the group to his sister Lily, and to his niece Thrush. The party rested that night, then made their way to Brindol, where they had some loose ends to tie up.
Kai and Ayas met a few other people to discuss the training of the new militia, and all were in agreement that if this was going to be done, it should be done correctly. Later on that day, Kai, Wotan, Ayas and Terik met with their old friend, the mayor Lord Jarmath, to discuss the purchase of some property in town. The group has been interested in opening a tavern here in Brindol, as both a place to stay while we are here and as a means of income. They see a few properties, and discussed prices, but in the end they decide to wait.
After a few days, the group decides to head back to Tourean. On their way out of town, though, they see the Vistani far in the distance, moving on. Only Dandelion, Lily, and Thrush remain. "I've been told that my future lies with you" says the half-elf. "If you would have me, I will join you. Anyways, I think you would miss me if I left. Admit it, you need me." The trip takes a few days, but eventually they get back home. Dandelion and his family go about finding a place to settle down. They've never lived in a house that couldn't be rolled up and carried before, so adjusting to a stationary life would take some getting used to. But they do bring some color to the place.
Meanwhile, Wotan has an idea about how they could run a tavern. Lorelai's parents, who run an inn in Hommlett,
have been wanting to be closer to their daughter. He decides it is time
to go and ask them if they would be interested in moving to Brindol. The trip is long, but Ayas agrees to go along with him for company. Plus, his winged steed could come in handy. Many weeks pass before they return, and the news is good. Even though it is hard for them to leave their home, they agreed to move closer should they need help running a tavern. Now all they needed to do was settle on a price.
A few days after Wotan and Ayas' return, Equis receives a letter from his cousin Dugal. The letter says that Whelm has been stolen! No one else knew what that meant, but Equis flew into a rage. He ordered his sons to pack their things, and soon enough they were on their way to the Hammerfist Holds. They stop in Brindol on their way through, and once again speak with Lord Jarmath. After seeing the property, Equis was impressed, and agreed to cover half of the cost to buy the building outright! We will have a tavern of our own after all.
It has been years since Equis has been back home, but the greeting he received was warm and happy. Upon seeing so many of the short dwarves in one place though, Dandelion couldn't help but joke "I want to make it absolutely clear...we are not your gods. But if you're planning on having a feast in our honor anyways, we won't object." The joke got chuckle out of his companions and even out of Equis, but it got him a cold glare from Dugal. That night at dinner, Dugal showed Equis a letter he received. Written on the letter was a long poem that seemed to discuss the theft of three magic weapons, including the dwarves' hammer Whelm.
